Charitable activities

Community Carepoint (CCI) oversees the development and management of Adventure Park in Hampden/Silver Spring Township, Mechanicsburg, PA. Adventure Park is a community park presently consisting of a large, accessible playground, a one mile fitness/nature trail, 15 exercise stations, a soccer field, 2 sand-volleyball courts, a pavilion, a snow-tubing hill, and an amphitheater. An 18-hole Disc Golf course is presently under construction. In the future Adventure Park will increase the umber of sports fields and expand the trail system to connect wit the local park trail system. Adventure Park is unique in that all developments are created with special needs individuals and children in mind. Community Carepoint partners with local organizations such as United Cerebral Palsy, Vista, Multiple Sclerosis Society, and others to provide helpful amenities for those with special needs. 

Oversees

Community Carepoint oversees the maintenance and development of Adventure Zone Playground within Adventure Park. Adventure Zone playground is a one-acre playground that is fully handicapped accessible. Playground amenities also include a 2,800 square foot pavilion and public restrooms. CCI plans to regularly expand playground amenities in the coming years.
Where Community, Caring & Action Meet

Partners

Community Carepoint partners work with regional organizations to provide volunteers and gathering facilities for their programs. CCI also assists organizations such as New Song and United Cerebral Palsy to provide locations for some of their activities. For instance, New Song, an organization that provides services for autistic children, holds their summer camps on CCI grounds while United Cerebral Palsy utilizes the Adventure Zone Playground complex and grounds.

The Future

Community Carepoint assists local organizations by providing storage and distribution space. In the future CCI plans to identify needs in the local community through community needs assessment. CCI will respond to unmet with programs designed to help meet those needs. Programs might include financial counseling, GED courses, English language courses, parenting and marriage enrichment courses, “dress for success” training, resume writing and job search assistance, and basic computer skills. CCI Board members are presently researching community needs and working with numerous local organizations to determine what programs are in highest need.
